Brian Murphy to the
Cedar Point Art Gallery!

A New York native, Brian attended United States International University in San Diego, California. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in Commercial Art.

During his years as an Art Director, Brian had the opportunity to travel the world, growing his global awareness and appreciation for all types of art, though he found himself always drawn back to the artists and paintings created in the very place he resided, namely the California Impressionists of the first half of the 20th century. Plein Air painting, which means to paint outside on location, was a growing movement in Southern California at that time. Brian quickly immersed himself in the Plein Air movement and within months was showing his work in a gallery in Laguna Beach.

Brian’s work has found its way into hundreds of private collections in the United States and around the world. Brian currently resides in Virginia, where he teaches classes at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News, and Christopher Newport University’s Life Long Learning Society.

Brian’s work will be featured in our gallery through December 2011.
